There’s Always Something Going On

  1. I am really pleased to tell you that our Church will be re-opening for Sunday services from Sunday, 21st March at 11.00 am – that is not this coming Sunday but the one after.  We will still have to abide by certain restrictions but it is a step forward and an opportunity to get back to some normal routines.  We hope to continue to Zoom our services for those who are unable to physically join us – the log-in details will be the same as those used in recent weeks.  Thanks to Yvonne, Alison, Angie, Beatrice, Doreen and Teresa for spending time cleaning our sanctuary in readiness and to Doreen and her nephew Vincent for clearing weeds and rubbish from our grounds.

  2. As you will see from the newsletter, the Deacons have invited Rev Keith Parr to come to our church to “Preach With a View” on the same day as we re-open – Sunday 21st March at 11.00 am – Keith previously led our worship on Sunday 14th February.  It is important that you try to join this service in person or on Zoom.  The service will include Communion so please have a small drink and a biscuit/piece of bread with you so that we can share together in this special service.

  3. The Charity Commission has accepted our application to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (“CIO”) so we now have a Registered Charity Number:1193754.  All our Deacons are required to step down and be appointed as Trustees of this Charity and all the Church’s assets and property have to be transferred to the Charity.  There is a lot of work to do so we will be looking for help over the coming months.

  4. In relation to points 2 and 3, there will be a Special Church Members’ Meeting after the morning service on Sunday 28th March at 12.15 pm, more details will be issued prior to that date.

We hope to see you at our Zoom service this Sunday 14th March and to see you in person when we re-open our Church on Sunday 21st March.  Please try to come in good time so that we can abide by Covid rules and not crowd around the entrance/foyer area.

Whilst we are unable to meet to hold Sunday Services, we are meeting by Zoom.

Our monthly Communion Service is usually held on the third Sunday so please have a piece of bread or biscuit and a small drink ready.   You might also want some paper and a pen to hand.

You can log-in from 10.45 am onwards and the service will start at 11.00 am lasting about 30 minutes – please ensure you know how to use your ‘mute’ button.  If you do need to speak during the service, please raise your hand.  There will be 10 -15 minutes at the end of the service when we will break into ‘rooms’ which makes it easier to speak to each other.  If you prefer not to have your video on, that is your choice but it is good to see each other’s faces – choose the ‘gallery’ option on your screen.  Don’t forget you can join in from your landline too (see below).

Here are the log-in details which also appear on the Zoom invitation you have received.
